Jim King Firefighter Memorial

Jim King lived his life serving the people of his community, and our site has been designed to pay tribute to a kind and generous man, who was taken from us at such a young age.

The organization founded in Jim's name is responsible for distributing a scholarship yearly to a deserving Athens Area High School senior that will be entering into a public service field. Fund raisers and contributions enable the organization to function. The 5K race is the major fund raiser and takes place the next to the last Saturday in June.

The event has become a fun filled day for all with multiple different activities; site visitors can also find the Jim King Memorial 5K race route and the results for last year, along with a host of other facts about the very special man, Jim King.
